Web Design · Vancouver, WA

Website design for Vancouver, WA contractors.

We build custom, hand-coded websites for contractors and service businesses in Vancouver and across Clark County. Most small business sites land around $1,000 and launch in two to four weeks. Every one is built to rank locally in Vancouver, Battle Ground, Camas, Ridgefield, Washougal, and the towns in between, not just to look good.

We are based in Ridgefield, so we build for how local search actually behaves here, including sitting next door to a much larger Portland metro.

Website Design in Vancouver, WA
01

Built for Clark County Search

Structured from the start for the cities you actually serve, so you can rank in Vancouver and the surrounding towns instead of vaguely targeting "the Portland area".

02

Hand-Coded and Fast

No Elementor, no drag-and-drop bloat. Lightweight pages that load quickly on a phone in a truck with two bars of signal.

03

Contractor-Ready

Washington contractors have to display their L&I registration number in advertising, and a website is advertising. We build that in correctly from launch.

04

Mobile-First

Designed for the phone screen first, because that is where the overwhelming majority of local service searches happen.

05

Calls, Not Just Clicks

Tap-to-call, short forms, and clear next steps. The site is judged on the phone ringing, not on how many people scrolled.

06

You Own Everything

Your domain, your hosting, your content, your site. No proprietary platform holding your business hostage.

What a contractor website actually has to do

A contractor's website has one job: make the phone ring. Most people land on it from a phone, often from Google Maps, usually in the middle of a problem. They give it a few seconds. In that time the first screen has to answer four questions: what you do, where you do it, whether you are legitimate, and how to reach you right now.

So that is what we build first. The service and the town in plain words at the top. A tap-to-call number that stays in reach as they scroll. Your L&I registration number, reviews and real photos of your crew and your work, because stock photos of smiling models in hard hats convince nobody. Everything else on the site, the service pages, the town pages, the about page, exists to support that first screen and to give Google enough to rank you.

Why we hand-code instead of using a page builder

Most small business sites in this area are built on page builders like Elementor, Wix or Squarespace. They are quick to start with, but they load a lot of code that has nothing to do with your business, and on a phone with a weak signal that shows up as a slow, jumpy page. Slow pages lose callers before they ever see your number.

We write the site by hand instead. The pages are light, they load fast on a phone, and there is no stack of plugins that needs updating every month or quietly breaks. You own the domain, the hosting account and every file. The honest trade-off is that you do not get a drag-and-drop editor. Most owners never wanted one. Edits go through us, or through a care plan if you want them handled on a schedule.

How a build goes

Week one is a call and the content. We ask what jobs you want more of, which towns you will drive to and what makes you different, and we write the first draft of the copy from that conversation. You approve every word.

Week two is design on a private preview link, so you see the real site on your own phone instead of a mockup. Week three is the full build and your changes.

Launch is where most redesigns quietly lose their rankings, so we treat it carefully. If you already have a site, every old page that Google knows about gets redirected to its new home, Search Console is connected, and your Google Business Profile is pointed at the right pages. You get a new site without starting over in search.

Common Questions

Most small business websites in the Vancouver area land around $1,000. A clean single-page site can come in under $500, and larger custom builds are quoted after a short call. You get a firm price before any work starts. No hourly surprises.

Yes. RCW 18.27.100 requires that advertising showing a registered contractor's name or address also show their current contractor registration number, and a website counts as advertising. On-premises signs and vehicle lettering are specifically exempted, as is broadcast advertising. Violations can carry penalties of up to $10,000. We build the registration number into every contractor site we launch, but confirm your current registration status with L&I directly. We are web designers, not your attorney.

Often yes, but they are two different search markets and Google treats them that way. Proximity is a strong local ranking factor, so a Vancouver address will struggle in Portland's map pack on its own. The realistic approach is to own Clark County first (Vancouver, Battle Ground, Camas, Ridgefield, Washougal), then build dedicated Portland pages to compete in the organic results, where proximity matters far less than relevance.

Two to four weeks from kickoff to launch for most Vancouver small business sites. The pace depends almost entirely on how quickly we get your content, photos, and feedback. The build itself is rarely the bottleneck.

No. We are based here in Clark County, and we also build and rank sites for businesses in Florida, California and across the country. Being local matters for your customers. It does not have to matter for where your web designer sits.

It can, if the launch is handled carelessly. Rankings belong to specific pages, and when a redesign changes page addresses without redirecting the old ones, that history is thrown away. We map every old page to its new home before launch, keep what is already ranking, and watch Search Console for the weeks after so any dip is caught early.

Yes. Most owners would rather talk for thirty minutes than write for three weeks, so we write the first draft from a call with you and you approve every word. We ask for photos of your real crew and work, since those do more for trust than anything we could write.
